I don't like to do ships, sky, sea, or standing up when I am painting, but this order demanded all of these things. I also hate getting things to scale when I cobble them together. My scaling was way out on my first drawing. I cannot remember if it was going to be more of a collage as I did the drawing back in March & I have been putting off painting it till now.
I have been asked to paint it for the visit of the Tall Ships to Blyth this August. I did enjoy a visit to Blyth to take some photos, I have never been before & I was in shock as there was FREE parking right by the beach & a lovely playground & cafe, would love to go again soon. 
Hopefully the painting will sell on lots of gifts & be worth my struggle, as I was definitely out of my comfort zone with this one.
