Sometimes my paintings seem to get lost in translation. I did a quick sketch of fairies which I loved but when I came to paint the first fairy I just could not get it right. So I tried again but I still wasn't happy. So with the help of Photoshop I chopped the head off the first fairy & put it on the seconds body, then cut her nose down to size so she looked a bit better. Once I saw the fairy printed I still did not like her. (Losing the will to live here). So then I ended up tracing my first sketch so it would not change too much and started the painting all over again. But third time lucky I think this fairy is an improvement & I can't face painting her again so she'll just have to do.

I am a work alcoholic so recently when I went on holiday I was determined I would not be bored sitting about on a sun lounger. So I packed my sketch pad & a very small watercolour palette. I passed some time drawing but as I had brought the small watercolours especially to take on my hols I was determined to use them. By then I was getting used to doing nothing all day so I could not be bothered to go & get some water so I ended up painting with the nearest thing at hand my Pina Colada. When I think about it the pool was only a few feet away but it did'nt even occur to me to use that water!

I was inspired to paint this design after being next to a stall selling Gingerbread one Christmas, I love gingerbread but they'd never turn out like this if I cooked them!
